The author of forgiveness saw this blue planet as so,
loving the troubled earth with paid for patience though,
speaking through the earthquakes, fires and lightnings,
was steadfast through shifting of huge teutonic plates
breathed living spirit released the power of oxygen,
and steadfastly refused to give up on humans hates.

Millenia passed, filling the earth with creeping things,
winged birds, fish in the seas and gave them beings
stewards, being God’s hands, heart and hopefulness,
but they wanted to be a brutal, powerful God instead,
meting out death, injury, abusing nature harmfully too,
fighting, enslaving, misogyny, envy, children dead.
—
Forgiveness dying, a tragedy to be healed by love,
yet they culled sheep, goats, bulls, a lily white dove,
to appease an unforgiving God; who died from the
lists of laws that ignored a generous forgiving heart.
Grounding under their feet the hopes and dreams
of hoards in horrific oppression, bloodied streams.
—-
Darkness covered the hurting earth, an earthquake
shook every stone and soul, for a man for our sake,
hung bones protruding through slashed broken flesh,
nails in his wrists holding him that accepted the call,
speaking of forgiveness, fighting oppression, loved
where there was hate and taught equality for all.
—-
Blood and water slowly dripped on a hilly place
from his sword pierced side, eyes pain glazed,
sunburnt skin, even then, he shouted God’s mercy
naked, nailed, a nightmare, ‘Father forgive them,
for they do not know what they are doing.”
Still, the author of life, died, his body ruined.

The creator of all wrote the message clear,
for all to hear, you can beat me, torture me,
humiliate me, kill me. I die for love of your love,
forgiveness now cross shaped, a sign of suffering
a crumb of bread, a sip of wine, symbols for you
to know I forgive you. always, my beloved.
