The Scourge of Brexit

It was a fallacy that ate at his soul.

no one had explained it. But its toll

was breaking his heart and the

children’s home. As the money mounted

in his loan.

She was hoping that it was not true

as she eyed the data of what is due,

Each tiny zero was impossibly round,

the bank would foreclose and so, all

would be gone.

They looked at their savings interest low,

they looked at he bills, wondered just how

they’d pay what’s owed      before red bills arrived

and pain set in.

Twas Brexit that boldly brought it on them all,

Twas Brexit that made their savings fall,

Each lie they told, an albatross for the poor,

Each truth they hid only brought them more

accumulated wealth.

One response to “The Scourge of Brexit”

  1. Yes, absolutely. Wonderful to read a poem about Brexit. Send it to your Tory MP. Conservatives are in for a downfall. But are Labour committed to re joining the EU. I have my doubts.
