That could be you, a hungry baby,
Son, will you go?
They looked at the playing children,
at struggling, enslaved teenagers,
Wept with a mother weeping over her dead baby.
They looked at soldiers killing scared children
They looked at the those bound and in prison,
at the outcasts, the sick and the lonely,
They watched the killing of thousands of Passover Lambs,
and watched the crucified dying slowly,
They watched the proud, the arrogant and cruel,
felt the pain, loss and agony,
wept as women were traded like wheat,
Will you be the bread they eat?
Will you bleed for them and quench their thirst?
Will you die for them?
Son, will you go?
They wept and He came.
